Forgiving

I've never seen anyone burdened by
So much pain
Such rage
Such sadness

Forgetting
An impossible task for the betrayed

You work toward forgiving

Pompous, hollow pricks
Are those who have been wounded
And become hard-boiled
That is their
Burden

There are those who have
Capacity
For compassion
They will
Hear you
You will
Hear them

Know that time will come
When you find a softer way
To remember

A Rare Pearl

Friendships can be real tough

A real friend sees you through
And accepts the so-called
Indefensible, "screwed up" you
A true friend doesn't waver
Cares about
What and how you are
They know the flawed person inside
And they forgive
Because we're all flawed

A real friend is hard to find
Like the rarest of pearls
